Hanukkah, Holidays, and My Friend’s Cats
Who said stamping is just a hobby where you follow directions? The other day, I created a bunch of Hanukkah cards using the Stampin’Up!® Seasonal Lantern stamp set. I chose the a Thinlit™ from the Eastern Medallion set as a punched background. This combination seemed perfect and uncomplicated.
But, it’s much more fun to actually make a card that speaks to the recipient. My good friend and relative has seven cats. Yes, seven. And, Stampin’Up!® has a cat punch. The perfect combination. Having said that, I was in a hurry to get it into the mail. As a result, all of the cats remained white. But, the slots in the Thinlit™ were perfect. The heads popped through and a few tails as well.
I absolutely love the versatility of stamp sets and Thinlits™. The combinations are endless.
And, now on to potato pancakes (latkes), a holiday tradition. The other tradition is jelly donuts. For me, any tradition that involves a jelly donut is a good one that I want to embrace and celebrate. A couple of years ago, I was sent to get some donuts for a Hanukkah party. And, yes, I purchased one just for me, which I ate while driving to the event. By the time I arrived, I was covered in sugar, the steering wheel was sticky, and I had a jelly mustache. It was a great look. Great food is my kind of holiday.
