Paper Pumpkin – December, 2017 – Flora and Flutter Plus Alternate Options
Sometimes, it’s just great to have some cards on hand for a special occasion, or possibly, no occasion. What better way to start the New Year than to send someone a card “just because.” Or a small note card in person.
The December, 2017, Paper Pumpkin Flora and Flutter included four small 4″x4″ note cards as well as four regular size (4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″) cards. The card to the left is one of the small note cards. This was created as per the directions in the kit.
The card to the right is an alternative. I turned the card inside out and added a piece of Tangerine Tango card stock. I cut the frame with a round Thinlit™. I backed the front piece with a piece of Berry Burst card stock which I had on hand.
Note that I omitted the butterfly as well as the bow on the sentiment.
The regular size card was definitely fun to play with. I love the Lemon Lime Twist leaves paired with Berry Burst.
The first thing I did was change the order of placement by putting the Lemon Lime Leaf layer on the front of the card.
New next card I made added Petal Passion Embellishments. These were added to the 2018 Occasions Catalog.
And, finally, some Lemon Lime ribbon for accent. When Stampin’Up!® introduced this color, I wasn’t sure how I would use it; however, once it was introduced, I seemed to see it everywhere. And, I’ve grown to love it as a color accent. The pairing with Berry Burst is wonderful. For this card, I also added three Glitter Enamel Dots.
Stampin’Up!® offers a perfect solution. If you’re crafty, or if you just want to play with paper, a subscription to Paper Pumpkin is great. Almost everything you need is enclosed in the box. The subscription can be for one month or 12 months. You choose. It’s a surprise every month. Sometimes, I just follow the directions and sometimes, I get creative.
The supplies listed below were supplies that I used in addition to what was in the Paper Pumpkin box.
